Painting Naked People
A clear energy exists when seeing naked people. Painting in this situation captures a paradoxically dissecting and tender nature of the artist: naively inquisitve yet exploiting for the sake of the paint. Humans are the perfect subject to explore paint’s possibilities. Painted in any color and with inummerable textures and amputations, the human form still reads in pinched shapes, the pulling of skin, and outstretched appendages.
In all of these, no matter how far they stray, I am seeking a powerful harmony of color and texture that begs to be human.
